چکیده

Abstract Claviceps purpurea causes ergot, a floral disease of major cereal crops, such as winter rye and triticale. The dark sclerotia formed by C. contain numerous toxic ergot alkaloids, which pose health risk for humans animals when ingested. countermeasures against infection are currently limited to intensive tillage, seed cleaning, crop rotation or integration optical sorting machines remove from cereals before processing. However, these practices confer only minor protective effect highly energy-demanding. Thus, more effective sustainable plant protection measures combat infections in needed. application Trichoderma spp. biological control agent has already proven successful wide range phytopathogenic fungi. there is scientific evidence about its capacity crops. In our study, we therefore investigated the antagonistic potential several isolates their ability infection. initial vitro tests confrontation assays, quantified compared production iron-chelating compounds hydrolytic enzymes well activity mycelial cultures . Several strains showed high antifungal growth inhibitory effects towards Selected were then tested protect ( Secale cereale ) plants within greenhouse trial. Rhizosphere-inoculated displayed decreased severity that had been sprayed with spores above-ground. Gene expression analysis reverse transcription quantitative PCR also indicated induction systemic defense reactions. Overall, data suggest individual possess , could be direct mycoparasitism inducing resistance, provide important guidance development treatments biocontrol measure ergot. Graphical abstract

Evaluation of indigenous Trichoderma isolates from Manipur as biocontrol agent against Pythium aphanidermatum on common beans

Pythium aphanidermatum is one of the common causal pathogen of damping-off disease of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) grown in Manipur. A total of 110 indigenous Trichoderma isolates obtained from North east India were screened for their biocontrol activity which can inhibit the mycelial growth of P. aphanidermatum, the causal organism of damping-off in beans. Out of the total isolates, 32% of th...

Molecular characterization and identification of biocontrol isolates of Trichoderma spp.

The most common biological control agents (BCAs) of the genus Trichoderma have been reported to be strains of Trichoderma virens, T. harzianum, and T. viride. Since Trichoderma BCAs use different mechanisms of biocontrol, it is very important to explore the synergistic effects expressed by different genotypes for their practical use in agriculture. Characterization of 16 biocontrol strains, pre...

Biocontrol efficacy of different isolates of Trichoderma against soil borne pathogen Rhizoctonia solani.

In this study, the biocontrol abilities of water-soluble and volatile metabolites of three different isolates of Trichoderma (T. asperellum, T. harzianum and Trichoderma spp.) against soil borne plant pathogen Rhizoctonia solani were investigated both in vitro and in vivo. The results showed for the first time that mycelial growth inhibition of the pathogen was 74.4-67.8% with water-soluble met...

Characterization of Novel Trichoderma asperellum Isolates to Select Effective Biocontrol Agents Against Tomato Fusarium Wilt

The use of novel isolates of Trichoderma with efficient antagonistic capacity against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (FOL) is a promising alternative strategy to pesticides for tomato wilt management. We evaluated the antagonistic activity of 30 isolates of T. asperellum against 4 different isolates of FOL. The production of extracellular cell wall degrading enzymes of the antagonistic i...
